    Anyone seen this one?…

I am capturing several 2 hour long HDCAM tapes. At various locations on many of the tapes the capturing stops (deck keeps rolling) and an error window pops up stating:

“Tape Trouble. Check VTR. Do not attempt to eject tape or use transport without checking the VTR first.”

The VTR checks out fine. The problem seems to happen 50% of the time. Kind of a drag when you have 48 hours worth of material to capturing in a 48 hour window of time. (See specs below signature)

You need the disable deck polling plug in from AJA.

Since it’s Sunday night, AJA is not open. But you, my friend, are in luck.

I have a copy of it right here in my grubby little hands, well, not in my hands really. I have a copy of right here on my grubby little hard drive. All you have to do is simply add this file to your plugins folder, Library > Application Support > FCP System Support > Plugins. Do you have an email address to send it to or a place that I can post this?

    We’ll call it fashionably late.

Wow, good timing on the post, I have been capturing a bunch of BetaSP tapes with the AJA Io and I have gotten this exact message and the deck keeps rolling, continue through the dialog boxes and it starts to recapture and all is fine.

Yeah, it doesn’t ruin anything, it’s just more annoying and frustrating than anything else.

If you can deal with the error messages, go for it.

Thanks so much, that problem with the J3 deck was a real thorn in my side.
