Drive can overcome many things. I’ve toured the world as a musician and now hold a VERY well paying staff job as an editor.

I HAVE NO TALENT AT ALL!

But I will work harder than 8 out of 10 people.

With drive/desire you can learn what you need to know and fake the rest. I wish i was talented, but then again I’ve known so many talented musicians and artists that just waste it aways because they lack the motivation to do anything.

Thats funny, because I forgot the Avid meridians use to do that. I think that stopped with the adrenalines forward.

May 16, 2009 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Dealing with Spanned Clips from Firestore FS-100

you can select all the clips and use “auto sequence” that will create a new sequence with everything in order of timecode. You can then use that sequence as your source (gotta drag and drop it into the source monitor, double click will load it into the record)
that might be the quickest thing to do

I’m not a mac guy, But I know the mojo auto updates it’s firmware depending on which version of MC your running.

when the mojo’s powered up and connected to an external monitor, are you seeing the mojo splash screen?

Anyone looking to rent a Symphony Nitris DX will know what it is and doesn’t need to be “sold” on it. Just list the system specs and maybe grab a blurb from the avid website.

April 14, 2009 at 8:18 pm in reply to: Avid, Timecode Issues for Multicam Comedy Special

Matching timecode is not crucial because you can set up your groups
using inpoints. So you just you a visual or audio cue to get the same inpoint for all your cameras and group from there.
I use to do this all the time when I was an assistant, grouping
3 or 4 camera shoots for a reality show. They never had matching timecode.
