    Forrest,
We use the deck a lot for live production stuff such as switching multiple cameras and recording to keep the SxS format. It is also nice that you can take any SDI signal and record to this format.

FYI, if you are looking to buy, I have them in stock cheap. Send me an email.

I have used both. While Sony isn’t exactly known for their glass, for the price, the Sony isn’t a bad buy. Also, keep in mind that .8x doesn’t get you very much wider so a lot depends on what you need it for. It is certainly nice to have a zoom-through so you aren’t always switching lenses though.

We need to give them a DV Pal interlaced quicktime file. We are shooting in 1080/50i. When we downconvert it here it looks good but by the time it gets to them via the FTP (quicklink)it comes out with a lot of motion jitter.

    September 16, 2008 at 2:24 pm in reply to: EX3 & Firestore & 35mm Adapters

    Mark,
The portable hard drive that can be used with the SxS format is the Sony PHU-60K. It is a 60Gb hard drive.

I don’t know that you can attach a 35mm adapter to the body of the EX-3 but you can get the 77mm adapter and attach one to the end of the lens, same as you would on an EX-1.
