Two Quadro 4000 AND the GT120 would make an awesome in-the-box setup.
Without letting you use an external Raid of course.Tomorrow I will get my 470, and when the test turns out as expected, that saved me the cost of two quadros and the cubix.

Basically, yes.
It would say, “UI card being used for processing” or something.
This means, inbetween doing color calculations, the card also has to redraw the UI, display the images and maybe even the scopes.
This will take up to 50% of your theoretical performance.
It sounds your main focus is actually CS5.
This means, you NEED to have the Quadro 4000 connected as your main display, forget the GT120 then, it has like 10% of the power.
But if you can live with the old card as your main card, the Quadro 4000 will do a proper job driving davinci and davinci ONLY.A slice of color…

Let us play with the Troll and within days coming up with a super easy to use poinclickcurve tool from what a lot of people will profit now.

And here are results from a Dual Cubix powered Quadro 4000 system with GT120 as UI.
V1 2 nodes : 23 fps
V2 4 nodes : 24 fps
V3 6 nodes : 24 fps
V4 12 nodes: 12 fps
V5 NR 4/30 : 24 fps
V6 NR 3/30 : 24 fps
V7 NR 2/30 : 12 fps
V8 NR 1/30 : 4 fpsThats good to work with I think, but its also just 5% faster than Blase’s GTX 470 tests it seems.

Yep, same issues here.
Not a friend of ethernet and EuCon.
For a fail save gig on the road, I would always choose the Wave.A slice of color…

Its a matter of taste, but they both are more of compromise than an actual tool.
The navigation on the MC is ultra complicated, clever, yes, but hard to be fast.
The balls are light, the rings are great, but the latency is the same, for all, i mean all, panels.
Especially the transport jog is , well, not really useful.
The MC has other qualities , like working with Avid, Smoke or Color.
The Wave is more a workhorse and after doing a couple of moths work I have grown into it.
Ok, if you get a good deal on selling it, go for it, but it more like trading a Seat for a Skoda.
The Audi (Eclipse) is double the price and we all now we secretly wish for the Veyron 🙂A slice of color…

This might be a “limitation” of the cheap third party panels.
I totally agree, it would be very very useful.
Especially because the navigation on both small panels is very cumbersome.
I would like to see a bidirectional way, when clicking a curve , the panel should jump to the curve tab, and when using the menu navigation on the panel, the UI should update.
By the you would not have to look down to the panel all the time.A slice of color…
