I figured a few options by now:
1.) Indeed having a second instance of the clip in question, putting on top of the original, changing the speed (e.g. slowing it down a little) and taking the Opacity down to your liking.
2.) Motion Trails OFX
3.) Analog Film Damage: play with settings, specially the ghosting part.
They are all ok, but none of it comes close to the effect that De-Flicker gives you, when set to certain parameters.
