Activity Forums DaVinci Resolve How to achieve this particular mild ghosting effect

I used to do these in Avid by layering the shot on top of itself a few times, and offsetting each layer by a few more frames that the previous layer. Then play with the opacity of the layers.

There was also a plugin from Sapphire i think called frame blend, or frame delay or something like that that essentially did the same thing, but all on 1 layer. Not sure if Boris has a similar effect.

    Hi Glenn,

I figured a few options by now:

1.) Indeed having a second instance of the clip in question, putting on top of the original, changing the speed (e.g. slowing it down a little) and taking the Opacity down to your liking.

    2.) Motion Trails OFX

3.) Analog Film Damage: play with settings, specially the ghosting part.

They are all ok, but none of it comes close to the effect that De-Flicker gives you, when set to certain parameters.

    Best,

    Sascha
