September 21, 2006 at 3:04 pm in reply to: DVCPRO HD Frame Rate Converter with HVX 25p 50fps footage

    Hi

No that only covers straight 50p or 25p not working at variable frame rates.

I’m trying to convert my 50fps footage using the Frame Rate Converter in FCP5.1 and it appears to only want to work with 59.94fps.

Is there anyone out there using the Vari Frame feature of the HVX in PAL Land?

I’ve used P2 Log to wrestle the MXF files into QuickTime and now want to convert the footage to slomo as it was shot on 50fps at 25p.

Would really like to use Vari Frames as its the whole point I purchased the cam 🙁

    Many thanks
    Rory

    Hi there

    Thanks for your responses.

I guess I was unclear in my original post what I was asking…. I know there are work around to the problem and have read all the other post on this forum and others but its not clear if Panasonic or Apple are working to solve this.

Its been quite some time since this camera came out and it amazes me that this problem still exists, thus I think it must be political that Apple nor Panasonic aren’t solving it.

But these are my thoughts and I’d like to hear what other people think.

    Kind regards
    Rory

100% are the PAL standard and 75% are for NTSC (normally)

  • Hi ZRB

Thanks for the tip, which works a treat.

Do you know how to do the same sort of thing to audio tracks?

At the moment I have a project that has 2 Channels of audio, both Center Panned and I need to Un Link the tracks, delect the left track and pan the right track so that is to the Left, then I need to ReLink the 1 audio track to the picture.

Is there a faster way to do this saving myself from doing it manually?

    many thanks
    Rory

  • I’ve heard that the Multibridge will not provide RealTime playback in HD.

Can anyone at BlackMagic comment on this thread?

Quark does, I don’t use Word and I guess Illustrator would be the same as AE as its an Adobe product. Don’t know what you mean by “pages”

December 7, 2005 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Timecode breaks when there are no Timecode breaks

    Hey Kaspar

I’m getting this problem on a DVWA500P (Digibeta), Panasonic 1200A (DVCProHD) and with Firewire and the DVXA100.

I’m thinking its a Final Cut Pro problem – a major one

    Any thoughts?
