The is a major problem with BM 6.2 drives… I had to go back to 6.1 to get my system back up and running as it had the same problem you are having.

    Hi Jerry

    Thanks for your help.

I’m trying to create stills from frames and have a 100 to do so want to batch export the markers as still frames.

Any ideas why it won’t work?

    Regards

    Hi Luke

Hope you are well and business is good.

    Thanks for your response.

I’m using a Dual 2Ghz G5, 4Gb RAM with ATI X800 and Decklink HD card.
With latest QT and OS and FCS2.

The problem happens when I’m editing or just playing a sequence. The footage will freeze but the play head continues and you can still hear the audio. Opening the clip in the viewer returns it to normal only for it to happen again. Then after a few of these the screen goes completely wide displaying a brown pattern and all I can do is reset the machine.

I noticed this after installing 6.2 and have since gone back to 6.1 and have not experienced this problem, which would lead me to believe 6.2 is bad.

Hope you guys can sort this and lead the way again.
    Kind regards
    Rory

Thanks Ben, I’ll try trashing the Prev.

This is a Freeze frame so FCP has generated the image.

Strange. I hope this can be fixed.

RGB+Alpha changes it to show the Alpha (sure you know this) but yeah the image stays RED so it must be something else or a bug for the MBP.

Anyone using a MBP or Mac Pro? As this might be an Intel problem as it works fine on my G5.

    Thanks

    Hi Ben

Thanks for the info, unfortunately this is not the problem. I have it set to RGB and it still show red.

I’ve tried toggling it on and off but the image still show up with red over it….

    Any other ideas?

I’m starting to think that this is a Mac Book Pro 17″ bug as it works find on my G5.

Anyone using FCP on a MBP 17″ having the same problem as me?

    Many thanks
    Rory
