I’m coming from a BlackMagic DecklinkHD card which as S/PDIF output so I can monitor audio.

Looking at moving across to Kona there seems to be only SDI embedded audio so I’m wondering how people are monitoring their audio.

    Thanks
    Rory

Kona what??? There are several different HD Kona cards, each with their own way(s) of handling audio I/O. Some are SDI only. Others have analog and SDI I/O.

Rory, if you buy a Kona LHe, you will get the AJA KL box. If you get an AJA Kona 3, you will get the AJA K3 box. For $289, don’t cheap out. This is how you will get your audio monitoring, and have a great break out panel, instead of those horrible little skinny cables that Blackmagic (and AJA) give you by default.
