Check out Bill O’Neal’s COW Tutorial, playing with light or something like that. Instead of using graphics use a still photo or a video. Bill’s technique is pretty much robust in terms of what it can be used for.

CC Mr Mercury should do the trick rather well. You’ll first need to finetune the parameters to create a transition effect. Then render out just the matte (Alpha only) or precomp it and use Shift Channels.

4-color Gradient does a decent job. If you set the vertical settings for each colour position to be identical then you can get something rather useable. Re:VisionFxs Re:Fill does a lot of other things too besides gradients. So that’s a good plugin to look at.

I recall that there was a hiccup with the trial instalation with regards to its cability for being upgradable to a serialised version. While the initial intent was to allow for trials to be ‘upgraded’ to a full version via inputting a serial number, that didn’t materialse when the product was shipped.

Your best bet is to either uninstall the trial version and/or install the serialised (boxed) version, into another folder, once that arrives.

Try cutting the masks, CTRL+X, and pasting the mask shapes onto a temporary layer. Then paste them into the layer in the order you want them to be stroked.

Hi Dave, I believe that you emailed me a number of months back. I tried responding but each time my email to you bounced back. I’ve since cleared my emails. So, if you’re still interested in the FOC copy of a broadcastGEMs product, then please send me another email.

With regards to your current issues with MPEG2 renders from AE, it is important that you let us know the composition settings, its duration, audio/no audio, render and output module settings and the actual MPEG2 settings. Sounds like a lot but without those bits of info, it’s going to be difficult to know what’s the issue.
