Perhaps Mylenium would have done better if he elaborated on his work requirements – that would have kept things in perspective. We all know that there is no one plugin that’s good for everyone, well perhaps with the exception of Shine.

This one looks interesting and I look forward to giving it a good run once I’m done with my current projects. FWIW, I am doubtful that my current projects (historical kinda stuff) will benefit from this plugin – then again I could be wrong.

I believe that Trapcode provides cross-platform versions of their plugins with each purchase. Not too sure about Zax though. It’s not something you would expect from each developer – best to ask each developer separately.

These look easy enough to do from scratch with the TextTool. But I am certain that something similar exists in the within the 260+ Text Animatin presets that ship with AE6.5/7.0.

Take a look at the Text Animation Presets Gallery. You’ll find a link for it via AE’s Help Menu.

I would create a Template for proxies that suits your requirements. Then simply select a footage in the Project Window and hit the key combo – CTRL+ALT+P. This sets the Render Queue ready with the proxy set to import as proxy for the selected clip. Quick and easy.

The only thing easier would be to do the script thing that Mylenium mentioned.

Video rez – 720×576 @ 25fps. Field ordering is Off. When Field Ordering is set to Lower, the results are the same.

WoW! This one’s is a lots of info.
Let’s see –

720×576 (upper or lower field results in the same issues)
Datarate – Between 7Mbits to 10 MBits – results in same issues. Variations with VBR or CBR also does not help.

Audio settings – MPEG-1 Layer 2, Stereo- 224 kbps and also 384kbps – no help here either.

ISO MPEG2 Stream – tried with DVD MPEG2 stream with the same issues

Closed GOP

GOP size = settings between 12-15 – nothing helps.

IBP frames = 3 (as specified in the Alcorn McBride manual).

Output to Programme Stream – have never used output to Elementary Stream and then used a secondary application to multiplex the video and audio. Would this help??? And if it does, I don’t quite understand why it will. Isn’t the multiplexing done within Procoder more or less do the same thing?

Auto Noise will create noise on every frame. There is another Moise plugin that doesn’t auto-animate. Have a look-see in the sub-menu, under effects->noise.

Like Ron says, check it out with the Sorenson folks. But I would check to see if your comp size is inaccurate for 720. You wrote, [robert paynter] “I originally had rendered my 1280 X 768 comps”
which isn’t 720 screen size. You should be rendering out of AE at 1280×720. Perhaps when you chose the hd720 setting from within Sorenson, it baulked – unlikely but something else to consider.

I use the Creating Motion Graphics in Adobe After Effects books for my classes. Volume01 of the series will have sufficient exercises for your needs. It’s easy to use the book to teach but you’ll have to know which exercises to cover and which ones you can skip and how you can cover 2-5 exercises with one of your own. This is imperative if you want to cover as much of the book as possible in what little time the training affords you.

It’s tough doing it the first time. You’ll need to go through at least 3 classes before you can fine-tune your lesson plans. It’s always an evolving thingy.
