Never seen that msg before. Best to get in touch with Adobe on that. My guess is that it’s a display issue. Before Adobe gets back to you, try switching off your graphic card’s acceleration for your OS to see if that helps.

Without more info, I can only make a guess that it’s a combinaiton of Particle Playground (which allows for particle interation, including text) and Displacement Map-ping (for creating the oily/liquidy text look of the text characters.

A better way is to select the comp(s), from the Project Panel, that you want to keep or bring into another AEP and then goto File->Reduce Project.

That will delete all other comps but it will retain related precomps. This makes the Project Panle lean and much easier to incorporate into other AEPs.

For computer playback, it is adviseable (when ever possible) to start off your animation with about 2 seconds of black. If you do that, then that should take care of your missing frames at the front.

If you’re going fullscreen then set your bitrate to about 3-6Mbits. Set audio to mono if you don’t require stereo. use constant bitrate cos’ if you’re not using a dedicated compression programme, chances are that the application you’re using for the compression may not implement VBR very well and that plus a low datarate may explain the pixelated text. What datarate you should set depends largely on the type of material you have.

Your other option is to use MPEG-2 with a datarate of about 8Mbits, which is essentially up to DVD specs. Actually you may want to lower that to about 5-6mbits to cater for the extra overhead on your system due to PowerPoint’s hit on system resources.

Take a look at CC Mr Mercury for the water bit. Off the bat, it renders with an alpha channel – it’ll be easy to composite your text for a reveal.

This one sounds strange. Which software versions are you using? I suspect that it’s probably due to the inter-frame compression of HDV which is initiating the issue. I can only suggest that you ensure that your Work Area is set appropriately and that you’re importing the correct sequence. Then make a backup of your Premiere project and try to lessen the load on AE by deleting sequences except the one that you need before importing the project into AE.

You will also want to post at the COW’s Premiere forum. Many of the Cow Heads there use AE as well.
