    Hey guys,

I edited a 30 minute long episode in HDV (25 fps) and tried importing the Premiere project into After Effects.

But for some odd reason, in my edits, the in and out points are not respected. The timeline is fine, but say I cut up a clip into several parts, well everytime there is a new cut, the clip will start from the exact beggining of where I captured.

Example: I cut up someone talking. Well everytime there is a cut, I see the beggining of where I started capturing (which is the slate).

Anyone ever encountered this problem? Any fixes to it?

    Hi Jason
This one sounds strange. Which software versions are you using? I suspect that it’s probably due to the inter-frame compression of HDV which is initiating the issue. I can only suggest that you ensure that your Work Area is set appropriately and that you’re importing the correct sequence. Then make a backup of your Premiere project and try to lessen the load on AE by deleting sequences except the one that you need before importing the project into AE.

You will also want to post at the COW’s Premiere forum. Many of the Cow Heads there use AE as well.

    Cheers

    Hi

Well I’m using Premiere Pro 2.0 and After Effects 7

I don’t think its necessiraly caused by the interframe issue of HDV since its happened to me before on smaller DV projects.

I’m going to try importing everything in small sequences to see if it makes a difference.

I’m also open to any other suggestions 🙂

I’ve also noticed that when I import the project into AE, the clips in my timeline appear as individual compositions instead of normal clips.

    Jason,

I have the same problem. According to a forum post at Adobe, it’s got something to do with the “Scale to Frame Size” option. Try turning it off.
