I don’t have a solution but had the same problem but only in certain projects which is strange. I’m staying with Vegas10 for a while. Not worth trying to fight it.

With velocity envelope applied to an event, made two nodes on the velocity envelope. Right click on the second node and when the drop down menu appears go to “set to”. Type 0 (zero) there and that will put the freeze frame to exactly the stop point. You can drag your event out as far as you want from there and it will stay at that freezed framed point.

Be sure you are not doing as “save as” to the same directory as the one you have already saved to. If you do, Vegas will keep all the files that are already in the directory and on top of that it will add the same files again and put a number (001) or something like at the end of each file. You end up with multiple files. That has messed me up before and caused problems.

I have an extremely fast system and I was working with Vegas11 and everything slowed down to a crawl and impossible to work with. Another try with a different project went fine but days later I opened the Vegas11 project and many of the events on the timeline were all over the place and the project was a mess.
I’m sticking with Vegas10 for now.

A beautifully done video. Watched it twice. Great song and lyrics.
Compliments to the singer who realizes that he doesn’t have to stuff the microphone down his throat to be heard. It’s nice to see the artist without hiding behind the mike. Loved the dark background too. Very moving.

Project manager lets me know how many times I’ve used an event so which is good but I want to be able to pinpoint where those events appear on the timeline without visually scrubbing an entire project.

This seems to be what what I’m looking for but I don’t see where it tells where there are more than one event.

That’s a great solution. Even though I didn’t ask the question, I’m happy to know that answer which just didn’t occur to me.

I’m not the expert but one way would be to render that portion of your project as a Sony MXF file and put it back on the timeline and then do your zoom.
