I’ve never quite understood about the subclip. Whenever I make one it does not seem to appear in my directory of events.
Also…
Say I have a camera running for 20 minutes and only want to use 10 seconds of that footage, will a subclip leave me with only that 10 seconds of footage so I won’t have to keep the 20 minutes of footage on my HD taking up space? -

February 17, 2012 at 5:40 pm in reply to: Rendering fails in Vegas 11 citing nvcuda.dllI have several friends that are having rendering problems with Vegas11. Sorry you are experiences the same.
I’m using Vegas10 just for that reason BUT on one project my render stops exactly at 53%. I’ve narrowed it down to the single event however when I render that event and a few each side of it, it renders fine.
Anyone know what might be going on with that?
Thanks -
Whatever you do, don’t consider using the “Credit Roll” in the Media Generator tab. It has more troubles than you’ll want to deal with.

You’re pretty much stuck with it but there is one plugin that does an excellent job in eliminating such things. It’s called iZotope denoiser. I use it quite a bit to get rid of background noise. You sample a portion of the audio that has just the noise you want to eliminate and it does a pretty good job. Applying too much will cut into other parts of your audio however.
It’s quite expensive though. -
That is one option to start earlier but it’s awkward for two reasons.
1. It means I have to either slide the event just before it back a ways to make room to start again.
2. And the wave file since it starts late does not correspond to the levels I’m trying to reproduce. The strange thing is that it works great and starts right up until it’s utilized several times and then it after a few uses, it pauses before it will begin. Very frustrating…

Hi Stephen,
The recording I’m having to do using the “arm for record” feature is quite far on in the project.
I’m not following… How would adding a blank event to the beginning of the show help. I’m thinking it’s a ram issue or something. Could that be the case.
Is there a hot key to clear ram for instance?

Another tip to move nodes is to hold down the alt key when you click on a node. If you do that you can slide the node left and right without moving it up and down. That way you can adjust the length easily without changing the velocity.
This method works with any nodes in Vegas such as volume envelopes, etc. -
Hi Mike,
It would be really nice if there were a webpage somewhere where links to Vegas tutorials could be posted. I find them all so helpful. -
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply. That was a really eye opening tutorial. Thanks for telling me about it. I’m going to watch it several times.
Thanks also for the smoothing tip preference. -

January 11, 2012 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Vegas files on DVD skip after using DVD ArchitectIf you use a paper label on top of the DVD it will cause that problem. The DVD seems to heat up or something causing the DVD to skip or stop. Paper labels work well on CD’s but definitely not on DVD’s
