“I used my camera to achieve this” makes no sense at all. You capture video and audio via firewire interface. An audio signal from a cassette player, is line level. If you hope to capture that audio correctly, it must be connected to the proper input level. (line level in the case of a cassette player). I truly hope this makes sense to you? Do you not have a line level input in your audio card? If not, you will need the attenuator. This is all, providing you want to add sound to your already captured clips? Either way, once you have the correct connections, test the audio quality in Vegas using the record button, on an audio track. You should get pristine sound from an audio cassette deck in this manner, providing the source sounds are good, to begin with.

Rafi, you are connecting a line leve device to a mic level input. Either connect your cassette deck to the line level input of your audio card or buy the above mentioned attenuator, to connect to your mic line input. You must match impedance levels, or things will be out of whack, as is the case in your fore mentioned problem.

Sorry I have to side with Kevin on this…………….absolutely annoying to no end!!! I keep an extremely clean ship here!! But this forced solicitation has got me avoiding my FAVOURITE site, this one. If you don’t care that some of us feel this way, it will be the site’s loss. As we won’t be contributing. Surely there is another way?? Absolutely just hate it!! No I’m not paranoid, cookies must be cleaned out regularily, any other course is irresponsible. And yes, I’ve already subscribed…………..still the annoying shit!!

Hi Barend, UltraKey is the ultimate in chromakeying in my opinion, my best video product purchase next to Vegas. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. Love the 3D Virtual Sets you can place your talent in, and if you have a 3D animation package that exports in .smv format you can create your own 3D worlds and not have to rely on theirs. A VERY powerful tool!! Having said that I’ve never had trouble with Chromakeying in Vegas, it’s stil my NLE of choice. But for super simple and professional looking green screen footage, UltraKey is my tool of choice. Fully functional, only leaves a watermark on your video, but you get a chance to use it and see how easy it is.

Ed, is bang on when he says it didn’t know who you were! This happens if, like me, you like to keep a sqeeky clean system and delete your cookies regularily. As soon as you post again using your name and email address a cookie is deposited on to your system……….showing who you are………and stays there until you delete cookies. Certainly nothing to be concerned about. If you want to see your name in “Red” don’t delete your cookies. If you want to delete your cookies to keep your system clean, then post an answer to something before you check your other posts. simple as that!

Yes……….thank you so much Gary. I see in the Action tab under Destination Chapter I now have the option to select Vegas Markers! Incredible…………I may haven’t said this enough, but you are truly “Da Man”!! I couldn’t have figured this out on my own. Actually four hours I wasted trying to do it by myself. In less than a half-hour you solved it completely. Talk about real-time interaction!! Well, back to creating for me…………..thanks once again Gary!

Ah ok……………..now I can see my MPEG2 in the Timeline, thank you. Hitting the Load Markers button, also now shows me my Markers. But I am still at at a loss as to where to set the start time of Photo Sessions or Reception. I’m almost there………….thank you so much!!

Well that is part of the problem, all I see in the Timeline, is my menu picture and the audio track I’ve choosen to loop during the menu. I can’t figure out how to see the Timeline of the actual MPEG2.

Thank you Gary, for your quick response…………but doing that only creates a fourth thumbnail, not what I wanted. Or am I perhaps not understanding your instructions?
