Hi Mae, I don’t know what software you are using to write music,(I use Nuendo 3.0) But the key to making all your songs the same level is firstly mix them one after another without changing your volume level. Then in the Mastering stage, use a good compressor to squash the valleys and peaks. If you are using Vegas, the same applies. I believe a compressor is included in the Sony plugins, with the Vegas install. Not certain though, as I don’t use it. Personally I really like the URS and Waves VSTplugins! Both have excellent compressors. Hope this helps a bit?

Thank you for your response Ed, it seems it doesn’t work after all. Oh darn, what a GREAT plugin it was!! The message I get is, “Install Wizard was interrupted before RC3 Film Looks could be completely installed.” A strange message indeed, but thanks for trying. Hi Leslie, for the Internet I really like Windows Media Video V9 .wmv at 512kbps. Really keeps the video cystal clear and the audio at 44,100khz 16-bit stereo. The picture is smaller, but more than large enough to watch. A 1 gig raw footage converts down to a 15 meg size. Perfect for the Internet, downloads really quick. Vegas exports in that format fantastically!! Hey Corino, ultimately you should have shot the actor in front of a blue or green screen, and then your background footage, separately. Then you would have the most flexibility. But failing that, I get quite good results using “Royalty Free” explosion footage from https://www.detonationfilms.com and using “Royalty Free” audio samples of explosions. You can use chromakeying or luminance with their free footage. Hi Leslie, that’s extremely interesting to me! If you place it at the very beginning does it abort the entire render? Does is work with just the audio, or is it embedded in the video portion? If it’s audio, is it audible? I’d love to get those frames from you if you’re interested in sending them on? Perhaps, via E-Mail, ICQ or MSN? I love a rock solid copy protection for my video work. This might just be, the ticket………….either way, very interesting!!

Hey Morten, what about removing the audio track all together, and replacing it with an audio sample of a train? Then you could pan it to one side and then to the other, to simulate movement. Unless there is dialogue in your shot, then you will need noise reduction. There are some free plugins out there, https://www.download.com/Noise-Reduction/3000-2169_4-10228837.html or https://www.voxengo.com/product/redunoise/ as well as the expensive ones by Waves. You can try them for free for a while. Long enough to get your project finished. SoundForge also has a good noise reduction plugin. Either way, best of luck with it.

While we’re on the subject, I’d have to say that, 3D plugin Pak and SpiceMaster are indispensable tools for Vegas! 3D being free and SpiceMaster a bit pricey, but well worth the investment.
