Sorry I wasnt aware that multi posting was not allowed, just trying to get as much response as possible.

I was using the F900,but the question was also generally about HD.Yes not wanting softlight for HD is abit out there 😉

I had used the exact same camera with the same filter with no adverse comments on a previous shoot.so didnt need to test again.

But anyway thanks for your thoughts, happy shooting indeed!

Ok thanks I didnt try to change any of those last digits.I use the UB on Sony camera,s really only for roll numbers that go over 23. ie More than the TC can deal with.
I,ve used varicam a few times now and feel I know pretty much how to operate the beast…but the UB setting,or non setting in this case has always been a complete mystery to me.I see no logic in how to set roll numbers.
There must be a way… or not…I mean I write it on the tape box but got used to putting it on the UB too,a pretty easy task with the Sony.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I had done that.I changed the frame rate from a user menu, not that main menu 2,would that have made a difference.

Would you have any idea about the UB setting.I can set it when the SET button on the side panel is on,but when I put that switch back dowm to REC RUN it all changes?

    Thanks again

    Hi there

Thanks for the info.Did the shoot at 23.98p.Seems this is good for NTSC land and also good for making PAL copies too. This seems to be The History channels answer to all problems.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies.

The shoot is a series for Discovery shot on F900.According to the dir they have requested 23.98,but having the camera at 24p is fine?

So why not shoot 30p I wonder,he doesnt know either…so all a bit confusing.

Yes sorry this is actually the question

    Thanks

  • Just a question along the same line.So the camera would shoot at 24p.I have the same thing been asked to shoot 23.98 but told this is 24p? in the camera. Is there a setting on the Cine Alta for 23.98,(dont think so)or is it better to shoot 24p,the 23.98 is done in post?

    thanks
