January 5, 2012 at 9:32 pm in reply to: Throughput Problem on Resolve Playback stoppingI playback 2K DPX files fine with a 12Tb SAS storage array connected with an Atto R380. I would look at the slot positioning of your Raid card and GPUs. Is there an updated driver for the raid?

I think the 42″ is around $4k and the 50″ around $5k and that is probably without the SDI module.

December 27, 2011 at 8:31 pm in reply to: Color Space Monitoring and Output Questions?Assuming you have a CRT calibrated to Rec709 you do not need to add another output LUT. Are you adding the LogC to 709 to individual clips on the timeline or as an overall?

I got the email flyer from Tangent the other day and at $3500 for the set it seems like quite a bargain. As for speedgrade I don’t see anything there that I would trade Resolve for.

With the catch-22 being that you can only buy the Linux license with the new panels now, which is really not a bad deal….

Those are older original 888 Panels which connect to the SGI O2 by a serial port. The newer style 2K panels have an ethernet connection and can be used with Resolve Linux. Because the older panels connect via serial there is no way to run them with Resolve.

Avid DNxHD and the new DNxHD444 MXF codecs look pretty interesting as Pro-Res replacements. I think it would be great if Apple would smarten up and allow pro-Res writing on the PC but they probably wont.

Did you install Quicktime on your Win-7 machine? I think you probably have to have the latest version of Quicktime installed.
