Did you install Quicktime on your Win-7 machine? I think you probably have to have the latest version of Quicktime installed.

The Resolve installer installs the Quicktime package we need. If you are having issues, you might try uninstalling the Quicktime app in Windows Control Panel “Programs and Features” area, then run the Resolve installer and select the Quicktime section to reinstall, and see if that solves the issue.

I’ll also say that I’ve seen that message a few times on our system on the first time I launch Resolve after a system reboot. But if I exit Resolve and relaunch, the message goes away. So you might also try that.

This QT decoder issue happens when you try to load any mov file that has a non-english filename or even it is located in any non-english named folder.
Kindly change those non-english filename or folder to an English name and start Resolve again.

Installed Beta Resolve Lite on a PC, i7processor, 24 Gig Ram, 2 decent GPU,fast E-Sata raid, and am interested in getting the full Resolve but have the same problem as han: “‘quick-time decoder initialization failed’ message after then i can`t read any files(h.264 prores422)
so how can i solve this problem?” We have done everything Dwaine recommended and we still have the same issue. Suggestions?
