[Chris Martin] “Anyone left in Vegas might want to put a wager on a sudden spike in Wave panel sales.”
Ha should have thought about that last night at the tables! Both Euphonix and JL Cooper told me they’re very very interested in supporting the resolve and have started talking to BM

[Aaron Stewart] “Robbie does your book approach from a photog perspective only? Or do you do both? “
Sorry about the shameless self promotion. I try not to do that, but easier to say here is a 300 page book rather then write a 300 page post!
The book is targeted to the photog making the move to video in the broad sense but is perfectly fit to anyone making the move to use DSLRs to create professional video. In fact this year I (as well as my co-authors) taught quite a few sessions at NAB on DSLR production and most of that audience was video pros and everyone seemed to like the content and approach of the book.
The entire book is a case study (a music video and EPK with a artist called Luke Brindley. We cover the entire experience from preproduction (site surveys etc) lighting (both DIY, natural light, studio light), Camera support and lens choices, audio, transcoding and post production to final delivery.
Again sorry for the promotion but I think you’ll for sure get something out of the book.

This is my set up as well. After converting to ProRes its just like any other video clip. View menu > External Video choose the frame size i.e. 1080 and the frame rate that matches the sequence. Depending on your monitor and if you shot 24 you may have to choose Psf as many older CRTs can not support 24p playback

Really depends on what your’re doing
Mic Preamps like the JuicedLink attach to the camera body and are great for run and gun when you want to use better shotguns etc.
A dedicated audio recorder is bonus as it allows the benefits of attaching better mics but also generally better quality audio (higher sample rates and bit depths) file options (wav, aiff, mp3)
We’ve been shooting dual system and haven’t had issues with drift etc

Guys I made a mistake. The panels they have on the floor are the older panels. The new hardware is not ready yet. But I can confirm its USB based, no track pad with mouse buttons (4th track ball and wheel acts as that or you can use another mouse) I just finished teaching for the day at Post Production world will post pics before AJA party tonight
