    Hello,

I am offline editing with Canon 5D footage for the first time and I’m wondering how I can play back the files via Final Cut on my monitor. It plays down in my Canvas just fine, but not my monitor. I converted all of the footage to ProRes and I am using an AJA KONA 3 card. Any help/knowledge would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This is my set up as well. After converting to ProRes its just like any other video clip. View menu > External Video choose the frame size i.e. 1080 and the frame rate that matches the sequence. Depending on your monitor and if you shot 24 you may have to choose Psf as many older CRTs can not support 24p playback

    Hey Robbie,

After more tweaking, I set the KONA at 1080i29.97 and it played on my SHARP LCD. Didn’t think of it earlier because my quicktimes are 23.98, but whatever works.

    Thanks,
    Russel

hmmm yeah that Kona Card will then be doing the 3:2 cadence but thats fine.
