I would also add:
Are the ultra scopes built in or as separate box (as they are now)?
I understand from talking to the guys in the booth RED real time only supported on Linux but can RED be supported on Mac but with rendering?
Anyway to get dimensions on control surface? Think a new desk is in my future as well

QT Pro (old one not the new one in 10.6) is an easy way to just get a single movie. I agree with Noah AE for a plethora of reasons for stop motion work is helpful. If your interested in my new book Still To Motion we have a whole chapter on Stop Motion and workflow etc. You can find the book on Amazon

Totally! And the worst part is that there are literally 20 different versions of this scene with Hitler hating everything from the 7D, 5DMKII, iPhone3GS etc. Totally old and plus Hitler really shouldn’t be all that funny IMHO

no what you need is a microphone preamp with phantom power. Preamps made by Beachtek and JuicedLink are you’re best bests. Connect the shotgun to the preamp, switch on phantom power, adjust levels and plugin the 3.5mm output into the camera.
Some onboard preamps even allow you to override AGC

Personally on the 50 I would go with the Zeiss. The 50 1.2 is hard to lens to use wide open (any lens that fast can be but the better dampening and longer throw on the Zeiss makes up for it). At 85 I would also favor the Zeiss for video but I love the look of the 85 Canon for still portraiture.

Totally agree a bunch of pretty smart guys! Gary Adcock who is featured in the video is a fellow COW moderator and was also the tech editor for my new book – a top notch guy

Noah is right lots of ways to go here depending on budget. But I’d take a look at the Zoom H4N, and the Tascam DR-07 there are others in that price range that are good too from M-Audio and others

yike! I would stay away from the pliers
Check this tool out I have one and it works wonders as it can grip the entire surface area of the stuck filter at once. I must have in any kit

[Neil Abeynayake] “One example is Canon’s WFT-E5A Wireless File Transmitter: “
Have you tested the E5A with video? My understanding ( I don’t own one) is that it is limited to still capture transfer only
