If you built on your own, make sure you name correctly: Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1
ExFat works for us in RW but I haven’t actually tried to consolidate to it.

you added an edit so there is no extra video to dissolve to or from. If the add edit was on a cut and they are stills, you can make them freeze frams and make a dissolve. If they are moving shots you could slo-mo and get handles to make a dissolve. If they are talking heads, you might could tighten the edit (depending on audio) both video and audio and make a dissolve … the more you tighten or edit out the longer the dissolve you can make.
You may have several options but it depends on content.

We have 6 systems on Win 7 – they are identical as far as I can determine but we have one system doing exactly the same thing. We are on MC version 8.2 We have searched for answers to no avail. We regularly run CCleaner and Malwarebytes and when doing any updates we do it to all. We have checked BIOS versions and settings, we have tried indexing on/off for local SSD and have tried same MC user settings used in other working rooms. Nothing we do changes this situation.
We are also in need of any possible solutions.

I would copy each numbered folder and rename before you copy then you don’t run the chance of getting too much into a single numbered folder – you can have up to 99 numbered folders I believe. Also when you open Avid it won’t re-scan all those files but you can force that option if you see any sign of trouble.

Avid Script Sync with v. 7 and below but not v.8 – we keep v. 7 on one machine just for that process which can then be opened in v.8 for use.

I think I just figured out what happened but I would need an install expert to confirm. On the machine that works I had installed 8.3 and found it didn’t work with our Matrox card, at least at the time, we could see no video on our client monitor. I uninstalled and installed 8.2 and i bet the plugin remained installed somehow from 8.3 —- just a guess.

There may be certain advanced features of which I am unaware but for the most part we have had no trouble between these versions. You can go back and forth between these versions easily. The worst possible case is there “might” be features of 7 that 6 does not have but all this really means is if you do something in 7, they simply might not be available when going back to 6. Your projects will not crash or become corrupted.

open the .SCC file in something like notepad and see if the numbers are associated with timecode – if they are then you may need to ask for them to ripple the numbers so that the .TXT file begins with 00:00:00:00 – Encore wants to see the “file” start time as opposed to the TC.
This is a possible solution.

you need a .TXT file – specific to Encore (UTF-8) I believe if memory serves me. The caption company should easily be able to provide this file from the work already done – it should take all of 2 minutes to export the .TXT file then open and save as UTF-8
