You have to be able to order it through your Panasonic dealer. For one thing the very soft rubber isolastic supports inside will not last forever so they must supply replacements. Just call a dealer and have them order one in.

Hope you are making out ok with your mpegs. You may find if the discs have been finalized they will mount in your computer, otherwise they will only play from the camera.
I just completed some work from a Sony JCR-SR100 HDD camera that records mpeg2 to a HDD. I was able to import all the files to the desktop through USB. I used Streamclip 1.9.1 to convert them to DVCPRO50 but it was terrible. There was a luminance shift after every cut (from the original camera) and pans, tilts and any fast motion created jumps. I tried to stitch all the original clips in streamclip and burn a dvd but toast wouldn’t burn the file after only just repairing the tc breaks. Finally, since the camera played back everything well, rather than continuing to experiment I recorded the program onto a dsr11 through the composite out of the camera and got satisfactory results.
Streamclip has been very useful in the past but not this time. Sometimes the old “tape” to “tape” is still the best.

I don’t think you have to go behind the cover on the 410. There should be a “REAR” setting to select the rear inputs and mic/line level is in the menu I think.
Here’s a link to a manual for an AJ-D400 at Pany: Problem is a lot of the upgrade from 410 was to do with the audio so I’m not sure if this manual will help.

[Chris Poisson] “I’m working at a place that has a DVCPro 25 camera and deck, a few questions. I’ve been wrestling with the camera for a while, going through the manual and menus, can’t find a way to get a single lav via XLR to feed to both channels. “
What camera and deck. Most of the DVCPRO 25 cams had A/B switches for audio on the side panel but some you had to remove the whole side cover and flip some dip switches.

If you’re only using your monitor in an edit bay you don’t need it as most i/o cards provide the component analog output for monitoring. In a news room or OB van where all wiring is HDSDI it is more preferred. You get 2 HD inputs from 1 card so you can have 3 hd inputs connected to your PVM-14L5 and switch between them on the menu. You can come in from the i/o card via analog; the WF/VS Mon. or monitor the signal being recorded on a deck via HDSDI for example.
If you use your PVM-14L5 on locations (like me) and want to monitor HD cameras via HDSDI then it is a must have (or you can buy an in line digital/analog converter for $1000.00 but that’s more connections and wires). My HVX200 is analog out so I’m ok but if I shot an EX1 or most any other HD camera I’d be wanting one of those cards.
SMPTE phosphors have a life of something like 100,000 hours so in the life of your monitor it may be worthwhile. It really depends on your own situation on whether you need it or can justify the cost or not.

[walter biscardi] “upposedly the new 17” has a better waveform and also now includes a vectorscope. haven’t seen it yet, but that is the addition on the new monitor. “
Also the monitor has a 120Hz refresh rate which should produce excellent motion clarity.
The viewing angle is reportedly improved as well although the 1700 is supposed to be 176′ so unless you can see the 1760 from behind that would be pretty hard to improve. 🙂
I think HDSDI is now built in on the 1760 as well and not an option like the 1700. That’s how I read the Panasonic announcement.https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/105/859188
Also notable is the “For critical HD focusing and comparison, the LH1760 comes with valuable functions such as Pixel-to-Pixel matching, which allows the user to see an input signal pixel by pixel without any resizing” so it essentially zooms in on a 1280×768 portion of your active format. Don’t think this was on the old 1700.

My 1st thought was adding a camera in the middle with 2 mic inputs and pass through to the computer. but then you need 2 xlr mics.
Now why don’t they make “Y” splitters for USB mics? Guess it’s not possible.
I wonder what would happen if you connected 2 USB mics to a USB hub and then to the computer?

No, nothing about the HVX200 but Panasonic seems to be on another roll. They’ve been announcing a number of new products, among them this consumer version little bro:
