    Good point beenie weenies …

I agree, since you are doing a composite with Keylight, a full “render”(loose term of course) would be the best solution for you. I was referring to when you decide to make little graphics like lower thirds, and overlays into FCP.

Good Luck with you project, green screen is tough sometimes.

Create a Pre-Comp with a Straight Mat. it will be a lossless with an alpha. Works great for me.

Nevermind … I figured it out.

Since I have an AJA Box, the system was telling the Video and Audio to go to the Box and not to the Deck. Interesting. Oh well… Thanks for the look anyways.

This is something that alot of people keep running into. I would check your Raid Admin settings. I beleive in the “settings”, there is a flush memory box, that is checked, by default. You are going to want to turn that off.

Look into the Raid section of the Topics on here.

    Good Luck,

I found a good quality mini-DV consumer camera is real good for what you are trying to do. I haven’t had much luck with HD cameras and the Macintosh. The only HD camera that works well, was the JVC with a Dock connector. It was the only one with a Firewire connection. Now if you are looking to spend a little more cash let them look into the HDV camcorders which are also great. good Luck.

By the way, there is always something better, but if the content isn’t worth the cost then what you have is suffice.

  • If some one acquired your serial, they can use it to enter as a serial for an upgrade. Check your records. If you are on a network, then yes it will shut down the computer when someone else is on it.
YOU CAN by the way put FCP on ONE Desktop and ONE Portable computer. BUT THAT IS IT. And still then it shuts down one or the other when both are open.
And if any of these things are not in your case, call apple and see what’s going on. Good Luck.

I would also take in consideration how many projects you do and what’s your average deadline. I have FCP on both a MacPro and an iMac. Smaller clients for the iMac (while the MacPro is rendering bigger projects). Just my extra 2 cents.

    Enjoy what ever you choose

Check your Video Out Preview. Sounds like you have the Main Monitor set to Full Screen.

I ran Disc Warrior and nothing was wrong with FCP. Only found issues with font for Adobe. I also thought maybe I am missing some files somewhere, so I reloaded FCP 2 (Long time as you know). And still has an issue.

    Help here would be nice
