Boole A subtract B is what your looking for.
Make the text as normal. Make the shape. Place them both as children of the boole.
Boole can be found in the same menu as Arrays.
If you text is cutting out from your shape the hiarchy goes like this:
    BOOLE
    -Shape
    -Text

If the text is higher than the shape it will be backwards. Try it and have a look …. always good to know what happens.

Boole objects suck the life out of your computer so use them with caution and it might be worth while to make it editable when you are 100% happy.

If you are set on using the “Tube for some reason try with deformers.
If you place a “Tube” Object in a Null object along with both the Buldge and Taper deformers you should get a tear shape. Be sure the your “Tube” has plenty of subdivisions on the caps and height or nothing good will happen.

Personally I would go with a spline in lathe nurbs for this type of thing.

The duplicate tool does this. Select Linear for the “mode”
Also Mograph cloner object does this with many more options.

Its in the Cinema 4D tags list when you right click on the object in the object manager.
(same place as align to spline, expresso, compositing tags…)

If you go to the help dropdown menu and select “personalize” you will see your serial numbers in the list you will see MoGraph. It is MoGraph 2 you have Modynamics. (It comes with cinema 4d 11.5)

Cloth is not really render intensive. Just cache the simulation before rendering to assure your render matches the simulation in the view port.

Personally I would use morph tags and just model both objects the way I like them in each position.

At my last job I did a lot of pipes so i build a small library of joints and then I used sweep nurbs to create the “tween” pieces because its so fast to model. You can however use the bend deformer to get nice round bends but it takes some time with the knife tool sometimes to get even subdivision on the corners.

  • You can put a composite tag on the floor plane and UNcheck “seen by camera”

Rigid body tags come with Dynamics and with Mograph 2 (not available for 10.5)
So if you are looking for the dynamics rigid body tag just right click on the object in the object manager and you can find it in the Dynamics Tags menu.
