it’s easy to cut between two long clips. Open one, set in out points, drag it to the sequence, open another in out and so on. Where`s the problem? You can also have two layers on clip on top, one underneath and then cut out chunks.
You’re on a pretty stable system. No 3.9. I guess you’ve the new Aja firmware. Try “repair volume permissions” in your hard disk utilities folder. If you have updated your system shortly and haven’t repaired permissions, this is your bug. Trash FCP preferences. Restart.
Good luck
I used material shot on Digibeta 16:9, using maximal 2 layers on DVCPro25 and rendered it with DVCPro50 codec. From there I made DVD’s. The film doesn’t show any quality loss on DVD. I think it’s important to shoot on 2/3 Chip, real 16:9 with proper lenses. Whether 25 or 50 or HD, if it comes to DVD with max. 8Mb/s the difference is not visible.
Don’t worry you sell your license together with the product, so legally the new owner is also the new owner of your license. I think there are no problems at all.
Jes there is, i’m still on FCP3 on my laptop. I’ve checked it. Modify-mark clips with best shots, interviews etc. you can even give the clips your own colours or names, let’s say wide shott, medium etc.
