  • finding dupe shots in FCP3

I want to find duplicate shots in my feature cut. I am using FCP 3. Can an older version of Cinematools help me find dupe shots, or do I have to load the project in FCP4 or higher? Thanks

Mark the shot in your sequence with Modify-Etikett, let’s say “best shots”. And you’ll find all the same shots in your sequence marked in red.

I don’t have a modify-etikett command in FCP 3. COuld you expand more on this explanation?

My plan now is to borrow a firewire drive from a friend with an FCP4, load my vid files onto it, and go over to his place and use the duplicate clip function from FCP4. BUt I would still prefer to do this in FCP3.

    danke

Jes there is, i’m still on FCP3 on my laptop. I’ve checked it. Modify-mark clips with best shots, interviews etc. you can even give the clips your own colours or names, let’s say wide shott, medium etc.
