Is not only Adobe. A couple of years ago when Autodesk released Combustion3, the price in the american countries was 1.000 U$ (tax included) and with the AutomatickDuck plugin included for free. In Europe the Price was 1.200 Euros plus taxes (10%) and no AutomatickDuck. Why?

Hi Tom,
I don’t understand how to control a DVD desk through RS 422. As long as as I remember to control a device with RS422 you need a TC signal (proffesional VTRs) or at least a CTL (Contol Track Line) that is aidio-like track used and recorded by all the video-desks (from the 2′ to the VHS).
But in a DVD I do not see any of those ways to be contoled from a external machine.

I agree with Borjis. If we would be talking about reproducing analoge video, depending of the player you would get a better ot worst output. But the best of the digital is that not matter with the equipement that you playa tape (as long as the machine works), you always get the same signal in your computer.

The shoot I’ve got is the water without the riverbanks. In the top is quite dark and in the botton lighter, reflecting the clouds. But the water (is the Mekong) it got a lot of movement. And trying to superimpose a still from Angkor Wat that was shot against the sky, so is easy to cut the shape.
At the moment I’m trying with AE applying a Wave Warp and little Displacement Map feed with the luma information of the river image.
The problem is that there are too many parameters to tweak in those effects . Anyway now start to look OK.
i wish i could manage application like MAYA. If I don’t try so, is not just a matter of money but of capability. I arrived to late to the digital world. Thanks for the help.

Hi David,
I haven’t realiced that before but, as you say, in the Sequence Presets appear as DV50 NTSC. But if you open in FC the Sequence Setting and click Codec Options, in the list of codecs shows up like DVCPro50 NTSC. That also happens in QT.
Anyway that foesn’t change much life.

Hi paula,
DVCPro50 is a good codec for extracting video from a MPG2 because is 422 and the files are not too big. You may not find the DVCProNTSC because is the same than the DV NTSC. In PAL is not the same bat in NTSC is the very same codec. if you got FC, QTPro or Compressor, you got all the bunch.
MPGStreamclip is the solution for converting the MPG2 to .mov. What you must do is to set properly MPGStreamclip so the files you get match the setting of your FC sequence so after you don’t have to render everytime.

I do not work with AVI files, but I’ve just downloaded the last up-date of Sheers and in the last Release Notes (v 2.6.2) I can read that they have been working a lot in theyr AVI codec. You can download the document fro their web site.
I bough the codec almost two years ago and the truth is that in the beguining I didn’t used much, but now I use it all the time. And if you are using a BlackMagic or a KONA those cards work (at least the BM) with the codec great.
I do not want to make publicity of the codec but I can not avoid to recommend it.
