The two of them are really good. Fieldskit is mor specific about interlacing (it got de-interlacer, pull down remover and re-interlacer) and give you some options that you don’t get with Nattress (like making a ful Frame from each field). The Nattress is great and come with many interesting things in the same package.
You can make a try as well with “Smart de-interlace” of TooMuchTooSoon. Is free. Works very well if you set the “Motion sensitiviti” to the top.

And if you ever intend to use Motion, you better get a good graphic-card.
BTW in the Core2 Duo you can install 4 GB RAM.

Open the preset you are using in the Inspector. Look for the window: GEOMETRY.
Select “Constrain aspect ratio: 16×9”.
Think tha’s all.

Open your clip in the viewer. In top of the viewer you got three small windows. Open the one on the right and check Alpha. You should see an image of your title in BW. If everything is white there is not Alpha channel. If so, you may have exported your titles with a background so all the Alpha channel of the Animation is cover.

If you are using Compressor 3, in the Inspectr’s Encoder window you should check “Stream usage: SD DVD”. If you are with Compressor 2. don’t worry because this option it doesn’t exist.

In the Apple Store they say that the new chip is a 50% faster that the older. I would take the second option and pay some extra money for a better video-card. There are more and more video software relaying in the card.

I think can put the the things very difficult for the Panasonic HVX-200.
For me this would be enough. Here in Laos nobody will pay me the extra quality, but if I want to do something for abroad is time to start to think HD.

There is an application cal “File Juicer”. Is useful to extract .JPEGs .docs and things like that from corrupted files or for extract whatever ther is inside a file . I don’t know if its can helps with a 10b .mov. Anyway is only 20U$ or so.
