Try holding the Control key while moving the slider. Standard Vegas feature for all sliders to give them a vernier effect.

And the kewpie doll goes to….
Well, where did you find that one out? From writing scripts, I guess, but thanks for solving my problem!

Is gotta be something to do with me, John. I opened an old Vegas 7 that I had on another computer and it won’t do it either. And no, I haven’t remapped any keys. I’ll go to my favourite ruminating place and ponder – or ruminate – or both.

Curiouser and curiouser… but thereby hangs a tale. I am using 10d, Windows 7 pro, 8GB RAM and an EX3, and import hundreds of MXF files into a project and never have issues with them.
Have you set Vegas to match the format you recorded? (Grabbing at straws).
Have you added third party codecs?

Interesting problem. What format video files are you editing?

Stephen… that was one of the best assessments I have read!

Crikey… who needs editing programs when one of those can wizz up a movie in seconds?

Thanks for the replies, everyone. The computer has 6600 quad processor, 8gb RAM, 5 x HD with 2 joined in raid 0. Total 4Tb. All HDs are standard 7200 spin, and not green. Windows 7 pro and Vegas Pro 10d. Haven’t loaded 10e as all is fine with 10d, unless someone tells me otherwise.
The delay wasn’t huge, just 15 secs or less, but it intrigued me. John has hit the nail on the head I think.

I agree with Steve. I have a Shuttle Pro too, and with its shuttle wheel and programmable keys plus a mouse, they do 90% of the work in Vegas. The keyboard is very much secondary, and an el-cheapo one is fine.

I am the same as Steve in that I don’t use BCC. In the past .mov files have been an issue, but all the files from AE work fine.
