Thanks for the thoughts, Grazie. Turning off GPU fixed the problem. Obviously I need to look at my card and its drivers as it is getting a bit ancient… 3 years is a long time in Computerworld.
Looking back at my Vegas 12 setting I see GPU was turned off there too… so down to the store I go.Once again, thanks.

Richard… many thanks. That was it. Something was gnawing at the back of my mind but obviously I didn’t tweak to what I had done.

September 29, 2016 at 9:53 am in reply to: Magix Upgrade Offer requirements qualifying product requirements?I appreciate there is light at the end of a long tunnel, but my initial observation is there is no readily obvious way to communicate with them. It is a drill-down process. Anyway, just my beef. I just hope Vegas doesn’t wither in their hands.

September 29, 2016 at 7:34 am in reply to: Magix Upgrade Offer requirements qualifying product requirements?Saw your comment re buying from Magix. Have you had issues with the company? I must admit that any company that hides behind an internet “wall” and offers no phone or direct email contact strike me as one that has a reputation for poor products, service or both.

I haven’t found the support ticket option yet… but the web site is not the best design. I did sign up for Magix magazine etc.. but looking through the magazine guess what? No mention of Vegas.
It seems Magix need a primer in customer relations. I would get better service from a rabbit hidden in its burrow. Weird.Anyway, yes Steve, it would be better to go straight to V 14… but if it is due out so soon where is the marketing? What changes are in it and is there an upgrade path? Sheesh!! The best editing program in their hands and they treat it like used toilet paper!
Thanks guys for the replies. I am burning midnight oil getting back into NLE and reading Cow posts.

Not all codecs use GPU for rendering… What were you using?

I don’t think you need the 32 bit floating point.. stick with 8

Is there a general options/preferences menu that may have what you want?
