Auto-Ripple all tracks in Vegas PE 13?
Posted by Sean Mcnally on January 30, 2014 at 10:48 pmI’ve got the trial of Vegas PE 13, and I must say it’s quite annoying how they’ve rearranged everything. One old feature I can’t seem to find at all is auto ripple for all tracks. There’s a button for auto ripple under config (pictured below), but there doesn’t seem to be any options along with it like in PE 11 and 12. I know this is relatively new software, but any help would be appreciated, I don’t want to have to create groups each time I have to move a chunk of events!

January 31, 2014 at 12:11 amSorry, not familiar with this new studio version.
If it was in PE 11 and 12, most likely the option is there somewhere.Steve Rhoden

January 31, 2014 at 3:55 amIs there a general options/preferences menu that may have what you want?

January 31, 2014 at 9:03 amYou’ve probably found it by now in the Options > Ripple menu.
(Movie Studio Platinum 13, Advanced Edit Mode)
See Post-Edit Ripple in Help.
Some of the buttons are rearranged in this “overhauled, redesigned, and simplified” (SCS words) first build of MSP v.13.
“Customize Toolbar” which was in the Options menu in the previous versions seems to be removed. -

February 21, 2014 at 9:23 amI found the Auto Ripple and the Ctrl L short cut to turn it on or off.
My frustration is that nowhere on the screen does there seem to be any indication whether it is on or off. That would be VERY helpful.

June 1, 2014 at 2:51 pmHi,
I was confused about the missing Auto-Ripple Icon, too, but it’s still there, you can find it now in the bottom menu here (see Screenshot):Greetings, Tom

September 4, 2015 at 1:35 pmThe auto-ripple is one of the most powerful tools available to a serious editor and I’m constantly turning it on and off based on the edit I’m making. I can’t believe Sony hid the indication as to whether it’s on or off! It is a seriously boneheaded design decision — especially when there’s acres of unused space to the side of the Config button that could be used for a simple visual indicator of auto-ripple’s status.

Guess you didn’t see the next post in the thread. It IS there, now on the bottom Toolbar. Next to it, the selection of how it should bed applied.

September 4, 2015 at 3:47 pmAhhhh… I got tripped up by Sony’s rather puzzling product nomenclature. I was complaining about Movie Studio Platinum 13, not Vegas Pro 13. Oops! I’m glad you Vegas Pro users get the auto-ripple indicator, but it’s definitely missing for us lowly Movie Studio peeps.
(I should point out that I stumbled across this thread via a web search and didn’t realize it was a Pro 13 discussion!)
