Grazie – the evil of the keyboard is that it loses the nuances of jest. Be sure I take your advice and statements with the utmost regard, and no disrespect was intended.

Oh my gosh. I’m going up the mountain to the monastery and ponder this.

Joao, I really can’t believe your attitude. You ask a question and two of the most competent people on this forum try to help you, yet you can’t be bothered working with them. What you are trying to do (or describe) does not come from a simple button push, and what you did in the past was pure luck or you have forgotten some of the other parameters you may have adjusted at the time. You admit to having forgotten what the “magic button” was.
When people of the ilk of John and Graham come to your assistance, it is worth treating them with the respect they deserve.

BTW.. thanks John for the link.

Not certain, but I suspect it is a setting in your browser. Have you changed or updated it lately, or has something added a “feature” to the browser?

I was going to suggest the same thing, Steve. What language settings is Windoze set to?

They detect a change in content and react accordingly of course. What about a hectic sports footage where it would be hard to decide if a cut had taken place or content change. With a continuous piece of footage with continuous timecode and no metadata, is precise cut detection possible?

The two pass detection in renderers has nothing to do with program scene changes, i.e. change between two shot to reverse angle two shot. There may be some clever bit of analysis software that does this, but I suspect even that would have limitations.
Only way to separate scenes is scene detection during capture that looks at timecode interruption.
For a single length event on the timeline, I guess the only way is to shuttle through it and manually put a marker at each observed scene change. How long is the combined footage… and how many shot changes are there? If there are hundreds of changes in a relative short event, then you probably need to look at another way to capture your footage… and that is above my pay scale.

December 2, 2013 at 9:35 pm in reply to: Elastique plug-in… where is?

It is the ambiguity that is the issue. My SVP12 (registered and paid for since V5) can accept many plug-ins from other programs, and actually that is all Sony are saying i.e. the program supports this or that plug-in – whether or not it is included in the retail SVP package.
Anyway, I am looking at buying Sound Forge and Spectral Layers as I shoot in locations where background noise is often a problem. Then I will have Elastique and feel like a whole person again. 🙂
Thanks for helping me along the way.
