Well lookee there! The new update holds a promise that it all will be well!!
And thanks Mike for advising us. Odd how I get heaps of promotions from SCS to buy this and that, but never a mention of upgrades that I have registered. Crap service on their behalf. Yes I know I can regularly go to their download site in the hope there is something there, but that is beside the point.

I forgot to add that I have a new gtx570 card installed… the whole system is new with SSD boot drive. Do I have to go and buy a Quadro card? 🙁

  • The penny has dropped. Many thanks John.

  • Problem solved. You can all stop worrying. It was late night syndrome. I had added a media effect, not video effect. Bit odd… not sure why it wouldn’t work. Have to RTFM.

Like Jeff I have upgraded, but with issues of the promised GPU assimilation, (one of the big claims of the new version) I wouldn’t bother with version 11 as it can’t do more than 10. Wait for 12.

Exactly my point.. the old menu was fine.. why all the fancies? Spend more time testing the program instead of fiddling with asthetics.
Make no mistake.. I love the way I can edit in Vegas, so when things don’t work the way they are claimed to, it is disappointing.
And yes… I have the latest drivers.

Seems I didn’t turn off the GPU acceleration, so when I did things behaved normally. (Egg on face).
However, it does mean the GPU feature is a flop. Pity I wasted my time and money on a new graphics card and system upgrade.

No, I didn’t think that John… I was just happy for the work-around anyway.
The Quicktime is 7.7.1. Rendering template was Quicktime 7 mov, 512Kbs

Thanks John. A good work around, although one still wonders why the render failure.
