  • No preview when scrubbing keyframe cursor for video effect

Posted by Phil Seymour on April 27, 2012 at 7:47 am

Must be late-nightus forgetus, but somehow when I scrub the keyframe timeline there is no preview… the “synch to timeline cursor” icon is greyed out so I can’t select it. The same icon in the pan/crop window does work (Why the hell you would want it turned off I don’t know)… but has anyone got any ideas?

    Using Vegas Pro 11, win7 pro 64, 16GB RAM, nvidia GTX 570

Problem solved. You can all stop worrying. It was late night syndrome. I had added a media effect, not video effect. Bit odd… not sure why it wouldn’t work. Have to RTFM.

[Phil Seymour] “Bit odd… not sure why it wouldn’t work.”

It wouldn’t work because “media” has no concept of a “timeline”. It’s just a file. So “sync cursor to timeline” has no meaning when you are adding the FX to the media itself. Only events are aware of the timeline so this is only available when an FX is placed on an event (or the timeline itself).
