Editing mxf media from my EX3 and tried a 2 second transition between two clips. All OK till I tried the zoom transition, and splat!!

Bubble at task bar said, quote:

“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version 296.10 stopped responding and has successfully recovered.”

    Bulldust!

All I got was the whitewash screen and a total freeze requiring task manager to quit the program. Has it happened to you?

Incidently I can repeat the issue every time.

Win7 Pro, 16gb RAM, i5 processor, VP 11 latest build.

I used to get this all the time on one workstation. Nothing would fix it. I replaced the video cards (there are two in this workstation) and the problem went away. (From older non-CUDA cards to low-cost cards with CUDA).

I forgot to add that I have a new gtx570 card installed… the whole system is new with SSD boot drive. Do I have to go and buy a Quadro card? 🙁

Try the latest build as it has bug fixes directly applicable to your problem.
See my very recent post for the details.

Well lookee there! The new update holds a promise that it all will be well!!
And thanks Mike for advising us. Odd how I get heaps of promotions from SCS to buy this and that, but never a mention of upgrades that I have registered. Crap service on their behalf. Yes I know I can regularly go to their download site in the hope there is something there, but that is beside the point.

If you have the “Net notify” option in Preferences enabled, this might let you know.
I personally have this disabled as I make it a point to never edit while connected to the net.
I’m a regular on the Sony Vegas forum so that’s where I get my update notifications 🙂
