Thanks for the info. My issue is not about audio meters while logging or playing tapes in the the log and capture window, it’s about audio meters that don’t work during the actual capture itself. Whether it be a capture now/clip/or batch. the moment you actually hit capture it disables.

Are you on FCP 5. Is this a new feature? Because it certainly doesn’t work in 4.5

Turning the speakers on does not enable the audio meters during capture

Yes this is normal. This has to be in my top five things I hate about FCP. Also havung the timecode display disable during capture is also totaally bogus. This has to be dealt with.

I think the default should be cut sequence to sequence without nesting and use the command key if you want to nest. Cutting from a select roll is basic editing 101. I hate having to hold down that blasted key everytime i want to make an edit. Definately on my top ten most anoying FCP features. Two of my other biggies while I’m ranting is the disabling of the audio meters and timecode displays during capture. End of rant.
    Cheers

This may be unrelated but FCP 5 will not run on 10.3.8. 10.3.9 is the mnimum

    Tom,

I saw apost the other day where the guy who wrote it stipulated that FCP Rescue 5 was for FCP5 and Tiger exclusively, not 10.3.9

Check with your Quantel eQ house I believe that it now supports XML. Be sure and do a test.

I asked this exact question to Ted the Head guy at AJA when he was on the DV Guys live radio show during NAB. He said it was officially “Shelved”. Which in my book translate into “Dead”. Shame because I was looking dor a new offline format. I really like photo jpeg 75% but current;y there is 0 RT for that codec on the Kona 2.
