I think you must have an older version of the (BCC) software – download the latest (free) upgrade for BCC 7 from our website (borisfx.com/downloads) and install this and you should be able to use Optical Flow just as you describe with the expected result.

I hope I’m not stating the obvious by asking this question but did you make sure to select the keyframe that you want to change by clicking on it before modifying the parameter value?

Hi,

Have you tried using using the insert option instead of the overwrite option when adding the preset from the library browser? This function should “insert” or “add” the library composite to the current composite without changing the project settings.

Hi Wade,

Currently this is not possible in BCC, however, you can achieve this effect is you use Boris RED. You can use RED to tracker an object in the scene and then apply the motion data to any object, which in your case would be a 3D text element.

I guess it all depends on what tools you need to complete your work. The box set includes some high-level compositing software (Boris RED) that can be used inside of Vegas as a plug-in or in standalone mode, where you render out host independent movie files. So if you are only looking for the plug-in power of BCC then you’re probably good to go with BCC however, if you need to do any real compositing such as rotoscoping, spline masking, multi-page text scrolling, charts, vector shapes, etc etc then you should go for the box set because in all honesty is it a serious bargain.

All I can say that having the BCC 3 Way Color Corrector in Sony Vegas Pro is very high on our wish list and that we hope to have it working soon but the exact timing of when it will become available is unclear at this stage.

Do you mean RGBCMY when you refer to a 6 way CC?

Hi Ray,

Odd … I just tried replicating your issue as reported and (of course) couldn’t see the problem on my system. The exported Pict from RED opened in Photoshop and looked exactly as expected – a flattened image file.

To help with the problem, would it be possible for you to send me the RED settings file along with the PSD file and I’ll try it here? If so, you can send that via yousendit ftp to peterm@borisfx.com.

This is a surprise as you should have been able to produce the effect that you describe with minimal effort with the BCC Page Turn filter. That you could not generate the effect leads me to conclude that something is not quite right with your system. You might want to either re-install BCC or reach out to tech support to see if they understand the source of the problem and can offer a solution.
