  • That’s because the TNB versions that are currently available already include this patch as we posted new versions of them on our site when the patch was uploaded. The patch was designed to prevent Red, Graffiti and FX from crashing FCP 5.1 as well as taking care of a couple of other annoying bugs. It will be useful for users of the aforementioned products who have a CD installer – for those that have the old TNB installer, they can download the new TNB installer to patch their older version.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Great idea … however the current ripple does not offer the option of a custom shape for the ripples. I’ll add it to our internal feature request database though to see if this is something that we can add to the product.

    Cheers,

Have you tried any of the presets that come with the Fire filter? You can find them by clicking on the filter preset pop-up at the top of the filter in the Red UI.

There are also many pre-built fire effect compositions available in the library browser, all of which can be customized to suit the particular piece that you are working on.

Of course, this fire is procedural and a bitmap so it will always have a little bit of a fake look about it but the results are good enough for some small animation effects.

If you’re looking for some really nice looking fire effects, you should take a look at Boris Blue, which can generate fire and smoke that appear to be much more photorealistic than the Fire filter that is in BCC and Red.

    I hope this helps,

    Peter.

Hmmm … what type of transition effects are you trying to create? Perhaps I can take you through the steps and with that you will be able to see how these things are generated. Also, there are many tutorial DVD’s which cover this subject – try a google search on Boris Graffiti Tutorial DVD to find them.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,

Unfortunately all of our try and buy downloads have a one time use 15 day trial period, which are non-renewable. One possible solution is to download again on a different machine – if you do that you will have a new start with the 15 day trial.

With regard to tutorials, there are several 3rd party companies that offer DVD training programs, which should assist you in creating effects, including transitions, for all of our products. I cannot endorse any one training DVD but perhaps other list members can help you decide which one is best for you.

    I hope this helps.

Please take a look at the many pre-built library of animated title effects, which will not only give you a lot of cool looking animated text effects but also provide a way of reverse engineering the way effects are generated in this product. To access the library select the Library Browser from the Windows pull menu in Graffiti. FYI … if you generate a title first, and select the title, then as you you click through the different presets in the library, you can see this exact text as it would appear when rendered into the comp in the small preview window in the Library Browser.

You may have to build the animated thumbnails first, which depend on you machine may take some time but it’s really worth the effort.

And remember, any effect that you import from the browser can be modified to suit the piece that you are working on – basically these are simply pre-build compositions of which any part can be changed.

If you continue to have difficulty with this please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

    I hope this helps.

    Peter.
