BCC AVX is designed exclusively for Avid systems, while BCC is for hosts that use the AE API, and FCP is one of them. you would have to purchase BCC for FCP to use the filters in the FCP host environment – the BCC AVX filters will not operate in FCP.

you can share presets between hosts though, so if you have a BCC AVX filter preset that you like in Avid, you can save out the preset and then open it up in BCC in FCP.

we are still on target with a projected ship date of september. i cannot give you a full feature list but we were showing the raster paint feature at NAB this past year and that along with a new look for the GUI are two features that i can mention. suffice to say that this will be one of the best upgrades to the product that we have had in years. we also demonstrated an optical stabilizer filter and motion key filter and both of these filters will also be included in the release of red 4.

hello,

well there should be a product installer, which you will need to run to automatically install the boris product that you own into your avid. the boris installer should have come with the avid product so I’m assuming that you still have that. also, you will need a serial number to unlock the boris product, which you would have received from avid when you bought the product from them.

I have a correction to my last post … the current versions of our products actually will run inside of FCP 5.1.1 as long as you are running FCP on a non-Intel Mac (I had incorrectly assumed that you were on a Mac Intel machine when I wrote the last post.) The short answer is no, the only product that we develop which currently runs in FCP 5.1.1 is Boris Calligraphy, which is included as a part of the FCP product installation. We are cognizant of the fact that we need to support this version of FCP with our product line and we are working toward that goal but I cannot commit to a set completion date just yet. Are you using an LTD version of Graffiti or the full version? What happens when you add a new 3D plane track to Graffiti once that has opened inside of the Avid? To add a new 3D plane you can click on the diamond shaped icon at the extreme left of the timeline, bottom row. Once you do this you should be able to select the media for that track by clicking on the media selector at the right of the track – this usually says V1, V2, V3 etc corresponding with the tracks in the Avid timeline.

I would also suggest that you either take a training class or pick up a DVD tutorial if you’re going to be using Graffiti in your workflow – the tips that you pick up from classes or tutorial DVDs are of a tremendous help and speed the learning curve enormously. Just to be sure that you are getting the most up to date information, I have asked one of the support team members to contact you regarding this question. My gut is that you should back up the style palette, the keyframe library and the preferences files but let’s see what they say about it.

Sounds pretty bizarre alright … what host are you using? What are the specs of the computer that is acting up? You mentioned that this seems to work on your other computers … have you tried creating a test project on one of the computers that is delivering the correct result and reopening that same project on the computer that is delivering the unexpected result?
