Ive heard this type of issue twice before.
Once it was (as already suggested) batteries nearing end of life, the other time it was a phantom power supply about to die.

November 24, 2011 at 6:12 pm in reply to: Grouping/syncing-Many camera’s starting and stopping

As suggested, sync each camera to the audio mix on tracks 2 3 4 5 6 etc leaving 1 (IMPORTANT) free to the end of prog.
Then mark in and out up to each re sync point. go to in. on each track make match frame then a sub clip for each camera. then select these subclips in the bin (in the order you wish them to appear in the multicam window) and then create a group clip based on in point. Take this group clip, add it to the play monitor , mark in at head and edit it onto the clear track 1. Work your way down the timeline from thast point to the next cut etc etc etc etc.
Enalble multicam and vision mix it on track 1.

NB I have matchframe and subclip mapped to f2 abd f3 for speed, and each camera mapped to f5 f6 f7 f8 f9 for easy vision mixing.
    Works a treat

OH, and fire the camermen who stopped their cameras. they need to get your edit bill as theyve cost you a lot of time.!!

Not much i dont think. You can filter / eq out say the bassier tones but ultimately this is a recording error.
In film / tv youd record in the scene but without the actuality. Then mix that in after to taste.

Was it ever any other? Not in my experience.

November 17, 2011 at 9:04 am in reply to: Open MC 5.5.3 project in MC 6?

Ive not had the pleasure of using mc6 yet, but in general forward compatibility is normal so you should be ok. backward compatibility not so. so opening a 5.5 in 6.0 should be ok, but the 6.0 session may not open in 5.5 any more.

November 17, 2011 at 9:02 am in reply to: Recorded with in the room with shotgun mic from far away

Sorry to add to the swamp of replies, none of which say what you want to hear, but theyre right.
Working in sound is a learning curve, and this is a lesson.

Why did you “have” to use a mic so far away?
Couldnt it be boomed in over the top, slung from the ceiling, radio mics concealed in clothing, hair etc etc.

I dont know your mic but
Does it (mic) have a battery in it?
Does it (mic) need a battery in it
Does it need powering from the zoom (ie 48v phantom?)
What connector are you using to connect. balanced XLR?
Have you selected buttons 1 and 2 to enable the rear record inputs
Are your audio record gains up
Have you tried a different mic (success/ fail)
