Izotope rx addresses this issue perfectly, although correct mic positioning and recording in the first place is the real solution

Hi- very likely the issue you had was caused in that venue by someone else or some other kit interfering or clashing with the frequencies you were on.
Spending thousands will not stop that happening.
What will stop that happening is doing research or scan in ANY venue about other rf frequencies in use / that ever get used there, and moving away from those. I don’t know the device you have so cant say if it can be adjusted but you need to be on frequencies that are away from others, irrespective of wether your radios are in the budget or high end bracket.
Im PRESUMING that you’re using radios because you need freedom of movement? If not consider wired mics?

  • Have a play with the trial version of Izotope rx. It has amazing tools including distortion removal which ive had great success with. If it helps then youll know what to buy to fix / lessnen your issue.

  • Hi
I think its highly unlikely that a Canon mk anything will pass through audio, let alone any audio you’d want to use!
Generally on these still cameras with video function tagged on, the audio is the very poor relation both in terms of interface and quality (which is a real shame)
lack of proper audio inputs (not mini jacks) metering, quality pre amps, monitoring – all very poor

You’ll need to look at taking the audio a different way, and then looking closely at sync at they are bound to be miles apart.

  • OMF is very old and has largely been replaced with .AAF files which do carry more info across.

  • Hi- that’s good to know but
I can’t see that working on this timeline
The lighting colours and levels change a lot and second by second across all cameras.
I need to be able to store a number of presets and they need to be accessible on the click of a button mapped to the keyboard ideally.

    Nothing like that?
