Nice rig there. The tethered thing is a bit “back-to-BVU” days but the Ki Pro is much lighter. I will investigate further.

Hi Jeff, I’m looking at the 2700 now. we hire it for lots of commercials. Did you consider using the D-tap power connector to power the AJA convertor?

How did you find the picture quality of the Ki compared to the varicam backup tapes? Was there less noise in the picture and anything else noticible? Cheers and good work.

I had to quickly replace the HD Extreme with a Kona LHe when we commissioned our Mac. But I must say, I haven’t had much suceess with the AJA CS4 plugin either. I think the problems goes back to Adobe, as I find output not near as solid as with the AJA and FCP7.

I’ve been using the HD Extreme for a couple of years now, but the integration with Adobe (on my PC system) was so flaky that when I switched to FCP late last year, I bought a second hand LHe with BB for $500 and haven’t looked back. I feel the Kona cards are more tuned to Mac Pros.

Ditto here. I installed as Administrator and my PAL system resets to NTSC every time the MP boots. It’s not a total PITA, but a quick patch would be appreciated.

[Scott Dedoes] “I am having similar problems trying to finalize a video project and apparently am not tech savvy enough to figure this out. Final Cut pro started crashing during the editing of a project and for a while I was able to get it to work by first opening up an older project first. Now I cannot get it to open at all. I have tried reinstalling and deleting the preferences. If anyone could help, I would be eternally grateful as I am going insane here.”
Hi Scott,
I’m as new to FCP as you. I got around it by creating a new project, then copying the bins and sequences to the new job. I also trashed the preferences and started again. It is a pain I admit.
