In 8.1, available soon from our support page to existing customers, you will be able to add an EDL to a new track on an existing conform, thus creating a new multiple track timeline.

HI, is this using the same red clips as you believe worked faster before or new clips? Are the Red clips hugely long?

  • Hi Chad, is this a single or dual quad core?
It may not relate to the digital powerhouse message but with 2010 MacPro its best to use 6, 12 or 24GB ram based on the way the CPU threading works. Can you try with 12?

September 28, 2011 at 4:08 am in reply to: Not able to Read DNxHD

Resolve supports DNxHD in the MXF wrapper. When you say you can’t import any files, I guess you mean DNxHD QT. Can you import DNxHD MXF that Resolve rendered?

Hi, lets start with what does work. When you start the application does it launch correctly? Can you select the storage volume you want to connect in preferences etc? If so, on the browse page select a clip from this storage and verify you can play it back in the viewer. Then put a single clip into the media pool and check… if all this works as it should without issues then we can get to the next stage.

September 28, 2011 at 12:58 am in reply to: Windows Resolve

Hi all, we will put together a Resolve for Windows configuration guide closer to the release date which will include known working configurations. I’m sure some will build their own configs as they do for Mac but at least you will have details of a few configs that are certified and supported. At this stage you can expect the same cards for UI GPU and video I/O, with some GTX and Quadro for Windows processing GPUs. Best wait for the guide before you speculate on the working configs.

Thanks for the input guys on this subject. While we believe everyone can benefit from using the Resolve control surface, particularly for speed and precision of operation, we support three third party vendors to offer you choice and a way to ease into the panel grading space when often the startup costs need to include storage and monitors too. Then when you make enough from your initial investment the Resolve panels are a real nice upgrade option.
