  • “Slow starts” when playing back RED media?

    This is wierd.

For some reason, whenever I initiate playback of a RED based timeline, Resolve takes a second or two to slowly ramp up to realtime playback speed, instead of playing back at full framerate from the get-go. I used to be able to instantly play back shots in realtime that had multiple nodes on them, so I’m not sure why it’s doing this all of a sudden.

This isn’t a show stopper or anything, just a bit annoying, especially since it didnt do this before.

I am running Resolve 8.0.1 on a 2010 8-core Mac Pro, with 2x GTX285s for GPU, Quadro4000 for GUI and REDRocket card (using the recommended firmware and driver versions Peter mentioned in a previous post). Snow Leopard 10.6.8 w/24 GB RAM.

HI, is this using the same red clips as you believe worked faster before or new clips? Are the Red clips hugely long?

Try disabling the Rocket. That is the exact reason I am not using one for hands on work .
My guess is it needs to “spool” the video data first .
