Hi, lets start with what does work. When you start the application does it launch correctly? Can you select the storage volume you want to connect in preferences etc? If so, on the browse page select a clip from this storage and verify you can play it back in the viewer. Then put a single clip into the media pool and check… if all this works as it should without issues then we can get to the next stage.

Even my Mac Pro with three 4000 + 4870 crashes every now and then. Save button is your only
trusted friend. However, I just finished a 100 min feature on my system without splitting the project.
I had “Resolve is running out of memory” error towards the end of the project, but creating a new
database just for that project did the trick. To repeat, “save” button is your best friend on any system.

As for the tutorial, I found the “Resolve Fundamentals with Warren Eagles” from FXPHD to be very easy
to follow, and it should get you started very nicely.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Kim!
If your Mac Pro crashes then I’ll have Tk think twice before working on an actual project in Resolve 8, the software is sweet.
    Thanx again!
