You don’t even need to export, the full resolve and lite will use the same database. Just make a database backup for added security but I change between the all the time.

The no need to consider for render, it’s just a color page display setting.

  • Hi Toby, set the red decode to half res good, 10 bit, the timeline to HD and grade in real time. When you want to render, change the r3d decoder settings to as you would prefer, set the render page res to 2K.
All the windows and resizing and grades will translate correctly to the new render side.

August 26, 2011 at 2:02 am in reply to: “file overwrite” error on Resolve 8

Hi, if you have files in a folder and select that folder to put new files, the warning message is letting you know that the new rendered files may overwrite the old existing ones in that folder. It will depend on the individual file name but there is a chance of overwrite within that folder. If you add a / and another folder level, you won’t see that message until you try to render clips there after the first render to that folder.

If you can purchase the Cubix desktop 4, more slots and good heat removal.

August 5, 2011 at 2:36 am in reply to: DaVinci Resolve 8 released and available

Hi, you should not have problems with it, but as a double backup, when you install 8, at login Resolve will see no 8.0 databases, just your 7.0.3 and will ask you if you want to upgrade. I recommend to say no, then use the new database management tools we put into 8 to make a backup of your current databases.

Once that is done, you can then select the 7.0.3 and upgrade it to a 8.0 or 8.0.1 database and all your projects should appear just as they did before. If you get in any trouble, you at least have the backup you made that can be restored.

Hi, there are shift left and shift right functions and so the current design required the key to be activated prior to the option.

Hi, I expect that model MacBookPro will work with a low resolution image. Can you please contact
davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com and let them know details of your problem via the log file. They can help you grab it.

  • Resolve 8 supports OpenCL so its you can use the latest MacBookPro and iMac however the deep CUDA processing that Resolve uses in the multi core GPUs is recommended for performance users which is why we recommend Quadro 4000 in the MacPro’s.
