Flags are associated with source clips. If you use the same source clip twice the same flag will identify the clip. Consider using markers as these are frame identifiers.

As an acquisition format the r3d’s can be decoded and debayered in Resolve where we use 32bit floating point processing. If you have made grades on set and saved those in the RMD, Resolve will read those when the files are placed into the Media Pool but once there, the range and control of the grade is significantly broader in Resolve, and many parameters that do not map directly, so there is no modification of the RMD to add Resolve corrections.
You can finish in Resolve at the 32bit float and when its time to deliver make a EXR or Rec709 or P3 or what ever deliverable you need.

In relation to projects saving and backup. You should consider implementing TimeMachine for a general backup and from the Resolve Project manager ‘Export’ the project to another drive so its easy to import. This is often done only at the end of a project so you can save it with the source media.
As to why some of your grades are missing. It could be that you have some source files that are used multiple times and as you come across each in the timeline you have re-graded them. If this was the case you should use a local or alternative version. Please refer to the manual for the details.
Finally, to help fault finding, please detail the OS and version of Resolve you are using and as Chris mentioned a little detail on workflow.

If you have a faulty dongle please contact technical support. If lost, you can claim on your insurance just as you would for a lost computer. In an emergency you can use Resolve Lite and I know some travellers who download Lite to carry but not install as a safety for loosing their dongle.

Hi Daniel, so to confirm, you have HD source material, the timeline is set to HD or SD? What setting do you have for Input image scaling preset? Is the output scaling set to match timeline settings?

Resolve can decode and debayer the R3D files natively so no need to convert to DPX for grading. You may need to render the clips you need to go to VFX but in Resolve we handle R3D.
If you have a P3 monitor, and the grades you make look good on that monitor, thats what you will render.Consider using the Camera Raw controls in Resolve v9, REDcolor3 and get the image in the range with ISO etc, but do all the grading in Resolve as we use 32 bit floating point processing.

Also you should check you are I target recording mode so you get one long clip of the whole timeline.

Hi Lee, glad you like Resolve v9 with all the new dailies features.
As there are so many different configs and different user preferences we decided long ago to let users set up their own config and save that.
You can set your own personal dailies config and save that in project settings ‘Presets’ and you can make that Preset the default.
Please refer to the v9 user manual for details on Presets.
